SLEDGE HOCKEY EQUIPMENT PROGRAM

Hockey Canada has introduced a sledge hockey equipment program, a grassroots initiative designed to help alleviate the specific financial challenge of sledge hockey equipment. It will assist organizations at the local and provincial levels that wish to make an initial investment in sledge hockey equipment – sleds and sticks. Sledge hockey is an innovative team sport that incorporates the same rules and discipline structure as regular ice hockey. Sledge hockey players sit on specially designed sleds, or ‘sledges’, with skate blades under the seat. Two sticks are used to not only pass, stickhandle and shoot the puck, but also to propel and maneuver their sledges. » more info
