The game will be the last international contest in Alberta before the action gets underway in Vancouver at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games on February 13. Canada’s National Women’s Team has been centralized in Calgary since August in preparation for Vancouver, playing a schedule of games against Alberta Midget Hockey League competition.

Seven days later, on December 22, the future of Canadian hockey is on display when Canada’s National Junior Team takes on Finland. The game is part of Canada’s pre-tournament schedule ahead of the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship, scheduled for December 26 to January 5 in Regina and Saskatoon, Sask.

Canada has won five-consecutive gold medals at the IIHF World Junior Championship, tying its own record set from 1993-97. It opens its quest for six in a row on Boxing Day, December 26, when it faces Latvia at Credit Union Centre in Saskatoon.

Tickets for both games are on sale now at the Pengrowth Saddledome box office, at any Ticketmaster outlet, by phone at 403-777-0000 or online at www.ticketmaster.ca
