|
The South Surrey Arena is home to the British Columbia Hockey League’s Surrey Eagles and is one of two
Olympic-sized rinks in the Lower Mainland. Situated in South Surrey Athletic Park, it is surrounded by urban
forests and a multitude of athletic fields. It is also next to the South Surrey Recreation Centre, Softball
City and near the South Surrey Indoor Pool. The arena is just off 148 Street between 20 Avenue and 24 Avenue
in the South Surrey area, close to two main arteries – Highway 99 and King George Highway.

Built in 1991, the facility boasts a 198’ x 98’ ice surface with 1,240 fixed seats in a stadium setting.
It has hosted the 2005 Canadian Short Track Speed Skating Championships, the U.S. speed skating team for two
training camps, the Junior Women’s Hockey League championship and numerous provincial hockey tournaments.
The arena has a professional atmosphere and staff have been trained by the Calgary Olympic Oval team
responsible for maintaining speed skating ice surfaces during the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter
Games.
