Q: What are the ticket package options?
A: There are two ticket package options:
• 10-game ticket package in Edmonton, which includes four (4) guaranteed round-robin games featuring Canada’s National Junior Team
• 21-game ticket package in Calgary, which includes the gold medal game, bronze medal game, semifinals, quarter-finals and 10 round-robin games

Q: What is the cost of a ticket package for games played in Edmonton?
A: There are five price levels for the 10-game ticket package in Edmonton:
• $1,225 CDN per seat per 10-game package for lower level seats
• $950 CDN per seat per 10-game package for executive terrace level seats
• $750 CDN per seat per 10-game package for terrace level seats
• $550 CDN per seat per 10-game package for colonnade level seats
• $250 CDN per seat per 10-game package for gallery level seats

Q: What is the cost of a ticket package for games played in Calgary?
A: There are two price levels for the 21-game ticket package in Calgary:
• $1,199 CDN per seat per 21-game package for 100-level seats (includes first four (4) rows of 200 level)
• $899 CDN per seat per 21-game package for 200-level seats

Q: Where can I purchase ticket packages for the 2012 World Junior Championship?
A: To be guaranteed an opportunity to purchase tickets, you can become a season ticket holder of the Calgary Hitmen and/or Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League

Q: How many seats are included in a ticket package?
A: A single ticket package includes one seat

Q: Are there any discounted ticket packages available?
A: If you are a season ticket holder of the Calgary Hitmen you can order tickets starting at a price of $699 per seat until April 30, 2010 (THIS DATE IS PAST); please note you must retain your season tickets to the Calgary Hitmen through the 2011-2012 season to take advantage of this special offer
A: If you are a 20-Voucher Flex Pack holder of the Calgary Hitmen you can order tickets starting at a price of $799 per seat

Q: Are there any additional fees/taxes associated with the ticket prices?
A: 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship tickets are GST and PST exempt. Convenience, handling and delivery fees are in addition to the ticket package price.

Q: Is there a payment plan option in place for payment of the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship ticket packages?
A: Yes, please contact 780-414-GOAL in Edmonton or 403-777-4646 in Calgary for specific payment plan options

Q: How do I pay for my ticket packages?
A: You can pay for your ticket packages by cash, credit card or cheque; please contact 780-414-GOAL in Edmonton or 403-777-4646 in Calgary for additional information

Q: Will there be mini packs or single tickets available?
A: The 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship host organizing committee does not foresee mini-packs or single-game tickets being available; full ticket packages in Calgary and/or Edmonton will be offered at the best available price; in the event single-game tickets and/or mini-packs become available, they will not be offered until the final weeks leading up to the event

Q: Are group tickets available?

SEAT ALLOCATION:

Q: Will I have access to my current seats if I am a Calgary Hitmen or Edmonton Oil Kings season ticket holder?
A: Best efforts will be made to place you in your current seats. The 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship has contractual obligations through the International Ice Hockey Federation. You will be contacted during the seat allocation process in the event we are not able to place you in your current seats.

Q: How are seats assigned?
A: Calgary Hitmen and Edmonton Oil Kings season ticket holders have first priority to best available seat locations when allocating seats

SCHEDULE AND PARTICIPATING TEAMS:

Q: When will the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship schedule be announced?
A: The schedule for the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship will be finalized upon the completion of the 2011 tournament; the schedule will be announced once approved by the IIHF and competing federations; this announcement is expected to be made at the end of January 2011 or the beginning of February 2011

Q: What countries will participate in the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship?
A: The top eight countries at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship and the top two countries at the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship, Division I will participate in the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship

Q: What is Canada’s game schedule during the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship:
A: Canada will play all of its preliminary round games in Edmonton; opponents of these games will not be determined until the completion of the 2011 World Juniors; Canada then will transfer to Calgary at the completion of the round robin to play the remaining relegation/medal round games of the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship; the relegation/medal round games will not be determined until the completion of the preliminary round on December 31, 2011

Q: What is the format of the 2012 IIHF World Junior Championship?
A: The 10 teams are divided into two, five-team groups for the preliminary round, based on where they finished during the 2011 IIHF World Junior Championship (Top Division and Division I); the groups are:

NOTE: Canada’s group will play the preliminary round in Edmonton regardless of ranking from 2011.

Each team will play a game against each team within their group; the winner of each group will advance directly to the semifinals; teams finishing second and third in their groups will proceed to the quarter-finals; teams finishing fourth and fifth in their groups will proceed to the relegation round; the winner of each semifinal will move onto the gold medal game, while the losers will play in the bronze medal game
