BEMBRIDGE, DIXON AND ZION ADDED FOR NATIONAL JUNIOR TEAM'S EVALUATION CAMP; JACKMAN AND LUNDMARK
UNABLE TO ATTEND CAMP DUE TO INJURIES

CALGARY, ALBERTA - Defencemen Sean Dixon and Jonathan Zion and forward Garett Bembridge have been added to Canada's National Junior Team Evaluation Camp from August 3-10, 2000 in Calgary, AB, while defenceman Barret Jackman and forward Jamie Lundmark will not be attending the camp due to injuries, the Canadian Hockey Association and the Canadian Hockey League announced on Thursday.

Jackman and Lundmark were both members of the bronze medal winning Canadian Team at the 2000 World Junior Hockey Championship in Sweden. Jackman has a hand injury, while Lundmark continues to recover from a wrist injury. Steve McCarthy, their teammate with Canada at the 2000 WJHC, remains questionable for the Evaluation Camp from August 3-10, 2000 in Calgary, AB. A final decision on McCarthy's availability will be made on August 1, 2000. For this reason, Barry Trapp, the CHA's Director, Scouting, Head Coach Stan Butler and assistant coaches Kevin Dickie and Mike Kelly, decided to add two defencemen.

Bembridge, 19, is a 6'0, 180 lb forward with Saskatoon (WHL). The native of Saskatoon, SK was selected in the fifth round by the New York Rangers in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, 137th overall.

Dixon, 19, is a 6'3, 195 lb defenceman with Erie (OHL). The native of Waterloo, ON was selected in the sixth round by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, 167th overall.

Zion, 19, is a 6'0, 195 lb defenceman with Ottawa (OHL). The native of Nepean, ON was selected in the fourth round by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, 110th overall.

Late additions to past Summer Evaluation Camps have included players such as Chris Nielsen, of Goodlands, MB who went on to star for Canada at the 2000 World Junior Hockey Championship.

Jackman and Lundmark remain in consideration for the National Junior Team's Selection Camp in December, 2000. Trapp will continue to monitor and evaluate the players at this week's evaluation camp in Calgary, as well as others through the first half of the season to determine the 32 players that will be invited to the December camp.

Forty-one players will now be attending the National Junior Team's Evaluation Camp being held at the Father David Bauer Olympic Arena in Calgary, AB. The camp runs from August 3rd through the 10th.
